For those who have had to wait until the end of Ubisoft’s Operation Health for new content, the time is almost here for the debut of new Rainbow Six Siege operators.
The studio has been dropping hints on what fans can expect to be added next to R6, which has proven a bit hit among gamers.
And now we know the official release date of Operation Blood Orchid, which is scheduled to arrive on August 29.
As Ubisoft have revealed in the past, This Season 3 expansion will include three operators and one new map, which is set in Hong Kong.
The change in format is down to the GROM expansion being ditched in favour of the Rainbow Six Siege update, Operation Health.
That has led to Ubisoft dumping the two operators from Poland into Season 3 and Season 4, which will include characters from Hong Kong and South Korea, respectively.
Fans will get their first look at the new operators during a livestream at the Rainbow Six Pro League Finals.
This is scheduled for August 26 but you can probably expect some more information on the new operators and map before then.
The new map has already been teased and appears to be set at Fun Park, with water expected to be part of the layout.
A recent leak on the Tactical Board gave players their first bird’s eye view , although it’s unclear if this old information that went live accidentally.
Fans found out earlier this year from dataminers that the new operators hail from Hong Kong and have the codenames Caltrop and Dazzler.
In terms of new gadgets not tied to either of the operators, it appears Ubisoft will be adding a new taser weapon, as well as a patcher launcher, whatever that is.
There could also be an additional drone-type vehicle that will be deployable, with references to the "Tactical Albatross" found by dataminers.
It appears that Caltrop will have a loadout that includes two different kinds of mines, a normal explosive mine and a poisonous variation.
Less is known about Dazzler, although as the name suggest, the new operator will include some kind of gadget that can blind opponents.
This could be a new kind of Grenade, although it’s unclear if this is more connected with Ubisoft codenames for content, or if it will actually be an additional detonation device.
It also appears that one of the new characters will have access to the QBZ-95 automatic rifle, while another will wield the JS9 suppressed submachine gun.
It should also be noted that this information was found before the Operation Health announcement, meaning that things may have significantly changed.
