What turned out to be an eventful couple of days yielded an interesting twist in Kenyon Jackson‘s recruitment.

Jackson, a 4-star wide receiver from Georgia, de-committed from LSU on Wednesday.

This was expected after the Grayson (Ga.) High School standout made several visits to both Florida State and UGA over the course of the summer. However, Jackson re-affirmed his solid stance with the Tigers over the weekend when the Georgia football powerhouse played against John Curtis (La.) Christian School at the Battle on the Border series in Shreveport, La.

Jackson made an unofficial visit to LSU to meet with wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph and coach Ed Orgeron on Sunday.

Jackson was the lone wide receiver commitment in the Tigers’ 2019 recruiting class. The departure of Jackson from the group drops the total number of verbal pledges down to six moving forward.

Expect Jackson to find a home at either UGA or Florida State moving forward, according to sources in the Peach State. That’s where he has visited the most in recent months. He has several teammates committed to the Seminoles that are also in the Class of 2019.

As far as LSU goes, the team remains in a strong position with several in-state wide receivers, most notably 4-stars Devonta Lee and Trey Palmer, who have both visited a handful of times over the course of the summer. Another prospect to monitor is 4-star Destrehan (La.) High School standout Quinton Torbor, who Joseph watched on Sept. 1.
