SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Kentucky might be in the mix for another 5-star prospect.

Reggie Perry, a 6-foot-9 forward who decommitted from Arkansas two weeks ago, said the Wildcats have circled back.

“They reached out to me a little bit,” Perry told SEC Country on Saturday. “They called my dad and stuff like that, but not that much. They have though.”

Perry is ranked the the No. 4 small forward in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports. He’s listed as the No. 4 power forward, according to Scout.com. Despite the positional discrepancy, the former Razorbacks commit is a consensus 5-star prospect.

Perry said he decommitted from Arkansas “to be closer to home and do what’s best for my family.” The Thomasville, Ga., native told Scout.com’s Evan Daniels that the decision focused on his father’s health issues.

The lanky forward competed this weekend at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in Spartanburg, S.C. He averaged 17 points and 8.4 rebounds on the Adidas series.

John Calipari and company have several big man targets including Marvin Bagley and Bol Bol — the top two prospects in the 2018 class. Perry doesn’t have a scholarship offer from Kentucky and the Wildcats aren’t among the schools most interested in him.

“First I’d have to build a relationship with the coach and then obviously go on a visit to see how I like it there,” Perry said of his interest in Kentucky.

Kansas, Mississippi State, Florida State and Georgia are the teams he’s hearing from the most, he said. And despite his decommitment, Perry said the Razorbacks are still contenders.
