With your bacon, have some Hogs for Breakfast. It’s SEC Country’s weekday column and roundup on all things Arkansas. Opinion, numbers, inane babble and more! And now with ironic exclamation points! There is no place like it on the web.

Shocker, right?

Five-star power forward recruit Reggie Perry de-committed from Arkansas just over a week ago. It took absolutely no time for Kentucky to knock on his door.

Perry was the jewel of the 2018 class for Mike Anderson’s Razorbacks. Even if the 6-foot-9 forward was expected to be a one-and-done player, he had been committed since August 2016 and he plays his AAU ball in Arkansas despite being a Thomasville, Ga., native.

Perry’s family said he de-committed from Arkansas to go to a school closer to home because of father’s health.

Speaking of the 2018 class …

This one is football related, but our Trent Shadid took a stab at predicting what Bret Bielema’s next batch of recruits might look like.

Hogs picked 4th

The SEC preseason media poll came out Friday, which means it just missed the last Breakfast. Barely.

Arkansas was picked to finish fourth in the SEC West. Honestly, a bit of a surprise. I picked them sixth.

Season starts in just over a month.

Arkansas lands 2 players on All-SEC teams

This was much less surprising.

Arkansas had two players chose as preseason All-SEC: Center Frank Ragnow was a first-team selection. Quarterback Austin Allen was a third-team choice.

Ragnow was a lock. Allen was in the race for third-team, but never had much a shot at anything higher. I put Allen and Ragnow first-team and had cornerback Ryan Pulley third-team.

A rarity

The weird thing about the two notes above is how they conflict.

You would think the fourth-place team would have more than two guys on three All-SEC teams. The two are the fewest Arkansas has had since 2008 when only one guy was taken. Andrew Hutchinson at 247Sports did the research on that.

With all that being said …

Every month or so we at SEC Country check in with you to get the pulse of the fanbase when it comes to Bielema.

It’s that time again. Like he’s Donald Trump or Barack Obama, he has an approval rating. It’s your call, too. Give your two cents here.

Two-sport star

Kam’ron Mays-Hunt isn’t being recruiting to play football at Arkansas. He is being recruiting to play baseball.

However, this past weekend, Mays-Hunt helped his Bentonville High team to a 7-on-7 title at Southwest Elite. WholeHogSports has the story.

Tweets and the like

This one is splendid. Children telling Bielema how to be a father.
