The 32-year-old former Emmerdale star gave her 384,000 Instagram followers a sneak peek behind-the-scenes at how her training has been progressing when she uploaded a short video earlier this afternoon.

The clip showed her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec, 27, patiently mending her shoes which had broken due to their intensive practicing.

"I've been dancing so much," she said, explaining why the soles had come away from the top of the shoe as Aljaž carefully daubed superglue onto them.

Looking up to see her filming him, the dashing Slovenian dancer then slipped, getting the glue onto his hand.

The video showed him panicking and throwing the shoe down as he jumped up, rushing out of the room shouting: "I need to wash my hands!"

Gemma simply laughed at his dramatic reaction, however, captioning the upload: "Never in my life have I seen such panic of a superglue spillage."

Her fans were left in hysterics at the hilarious clip, with one commenting: "Ha ha this is amazing!"

"You need a real man," another joked, while one was a little more sympathetic, saying: "I would've ran too!"

Gemma found out that she was partnered with the former Strictly Come Dancing winner on Saturday, when this year's celebrities discovered their professional pairings during the launch show.

They now have just ten days left until the first live show when they will step onto the dance floor to showcase the results of their first few weeks of training.

Strictly Come Dancing returns September 23 on BBC One.
