Watch How Stone Island's Durable Garment-Dyed Dyneema® Jackets Are Made
Italian-based tech wear imprint Stone Island just released a video documenting the process of how it's garment-dyed Dyneema® Jackets are made. The journey follows the silhouette from fabric to construction and finally, to the Tortona Design Week in Milan where the pieces were shown as part of the brand's “Prototype Research Series” exhibition. The video starts at the Dyneema® Production Facility in Arizona, then to the Stone Island headquarters where the materials go through a careful garment dyeing process. SI claims that the garment-dyed (treated with 50 color recipes) jackets are made from the "most durable and lightweight" fibers -- they're flexible and have increased tear, puncture and abrasion performance.
