This Nigerian Movie Just Won A $1 Million Grant And You Need To Know About It
A Nigerian Movie called ‘Nigerian Prince’ just won the AT&T grant at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
The proposed new movie on Nigerian scammers was announced the winner after hours of pitching to win the $1 million grant at the Film Festival.
The movie, written and directed by Faraday Okoro and produced by Biyi Bandele and Oscar Hernandez-Topete beat four other movies to win the coveted title and the money at hand.
Apart from the $1 million prize they won, AT&T also plans to distribute the movie across several of its video platforms in addition to mentorship from seasoned industry professionals.
The movie is based on the notorious email scams that have proved a plague to both local and international law authorities. It centers around a stubborn Nigerian-America teenager who is sent to Nigeria against his will. Things take an unexpected turn when he joins forces with an internet scammer, in order to return to the United States.
From the look of things, this is incredibly amazing and we can’t wait to see what becomes of it.
So excited for these guys!
In case you missed it, The Wedding Party has a sequel coming and we’re not sure about it.
